A small plane was crashed into a residential area in the city of Piracicaba, São Paulo state, Brazil, on Sunday, with all 10 people on board confirmed dead. The incident occurred shortly after the plane took off from a local airport.

The aircraft, a twin-engine model, was carrying a group of passengers and crew members at the time of the crash. No casualties were reported on the ground, although nearby properties sustained significant damage.

According to the National Civil Defense, the crash occurred just minutes after the plane took off on Sunday morning. The aircraft first collided with a building’s chimney, then struck a residence before finally crashing into a furniture store. Debris from the crash also impacted an inn, the civil defense reported.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, but no survivors were found in the wreckage. An investigation into the cause of the crash has been initiated by the Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC).

The identities of the victims have not been publicly disclosed, though reports suggest the flight was likely private. Brazilian authorities have expressed condolences to the families of those involved and assured that a full investigation will be carried out.
