Trump Departs G7 Early, Calls For Tehran Evacuation Amid Escalating Israel–Iran War

In response to a rapidly deteriorating crisis in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada ahead of schedule on Monday and issued an urgent call for the immediate evacuation of Tehran, citing an unfolding security catastrophe.

“Everyone must leave Tehran immediately. This is worse than what we saw in Kabul. We must act fast,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, as Israel’s airstrikes on Iran’s capital intensified overnight.

The Israeli military confirmed coordinated strikes on Iranian defense installations in Tehran, including suspected IRGC bunkers and command centers. Iranian retaliatory missiles earlier hit Tel Aviv and Haifa, escalating fears of a full-scale regional war.

G7 Overshadowed by War Concerns

Trump’s early exit redirected global attention from the summit’s agenda to the war in the Middle East. Though other G7 leaders focused on climate and economic cooperation, the conflict between Iran and Israel dominated private meetings.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced a proposal for a ceasefire had been “received by all parties,” but Trump contradicted this, calling Macron’s remarks “self-serving fiction.”

U.S. Military on Alert

The Pentagon confirmed that American naval forces in the Persian Gulf, including the USS George H.W. Bush, have been repositioned and are “fully operational” for any scenario.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is reportedly leading emergency diplomatic talks in Ottawa with European and Gulf representatives, though no breakthrough has been reached.

Civilian Crisis in Tehran

On the ground, panic gripped Tehran as sirens blared and Israeli drones targeted key strategic sites. Eyewitnesses described chaos on highways as families fled toward provincial borders and shelters.
Smoke rises from Iranian capital following targeted Israeli strikes.

Iran’s leadership has remained defiant, vowing retaliation and accusing Western powers of complicity. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the public to remain resilient in a rare emergency broadcast.

Global Fallout

Oil prices soared above $130/barrel as global markets reacted to the chaos. European nations called for restraint, while China and Russia warned against any foreign intervention.

“The world cannot afford to sleepwalk into another war,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres in a late-night statement.

With Trump’s evacuation call and continued Israeli operations, the international community stands at a crossroads—between diplomacy and further destruction.
