A 76-52 victory over No. 23 Arkansas was led by Chaz Lanier, who scored 29 points for No. 1 Tennessee on Saturday, tying the program’s best start to a season in history.
The best start, tied with the 1922-23 team, has been achieved by the Volunteers (14-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference), according to the school.
Thirteen points and 18 rebounds were recorded by Igor Milicic Jr., and Zakai Zeigler contributed 12 points and 7 assists.
Tennessee’s shooting from 3-point range (38.5%, 10 of 26) was nearly matched by its overall field shooting (39.1%, 27 of 69).

Seventeen points were scored by D.J. Wagner for Arkansas (11-3, 0-1), with Boogie Fland adding 12 points.
